Your health and happiness means the world to us, and we want you to feel comfortable and cared for every time you come to Vela. We will be following the Safe Practice Guidelines recommended by the Federation of State Massage Therapy Boards (FSMTB), along with infection control recommendations made by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA). We also will be operating in compliance with Governor Newsom’s guidelines for face coverings in public spaces.

All of our staff will be wearing masks or face shields when in contact with clients, and we ask that clients wear face coverings when inside the buildings. Your service provider will advise you on when and how a mask should be properly worn during your treatment. You may notice a few additional changes when you come in to see us.

Here are some of the things to expect on your next visit:

  • When booking your appointment our receptionists will communicate check in instructions with you ahead of time and may obtain updates to your health information. They will ask about any symptoms of or potential exposure to COVID-19. If you are experiencing a persistent cough, chills, or a fever, we request that you cancel or reschedule your appointment.

  • All clients will need to sign an updated waiver form with us. Our reception team can send a customized link to you via text or email for you to complete this before or upon your arrival.

  • We ask that you come 5-10 minutes early for your service, remain in your vehicle once you’ve parked, and call/text us to let us know you’re here. Our reception team will let you know when you can enter the lobby and someone will meet you at the front door.

  • All staff and clients will have their temperature taken with an infrared/touch-less thermometer before entering the building. If a staff member or client has a fever, the appointment will need to be rescheduled.

  • An air purifier with HEPA filter will be on in all treatment rooms

  • All surfaces, including door knobs, saunas and shower handles will be sanitized between clients.

  • We kindly request that anyone that is not receiving a service with us stays home. We can no longer allow guests without a booked service to wait in our lobby.

  • Our steam and infrared saunas will be booked privately to adhere to social distancing guidelines. Due to limited availability, we will be limiting walk-ins for our saunas. Priority booking will go to our massage and facial clients.

  • Private sauna sessions are $20 per person and include two rentals. Saunas will be fully sanitized after every client. We will not be offering sauna packages at this time.

  • We now have disposable cups available for water and tea. We encourage you to bring your own water bottle or cup with you to minimize the environmental impact of single use cups.

  • There is a hand-hygiene station that we ask you to use when you enter the lobby. You will also find hand sanitizer throughout the reception area and in treatment rooms for you to use as needed.

  • There will has been a $5 increase in our massage and facial services. This increase is to cover our increase in sanitizing supplies and hazard pay for our service providers, as massage and esthetic services require skin-to-skin contact. Please take this price change into consideration when purchasing gift certificates online.

We deeply appreciate your patience and understanding as we navigate this “new normal” together, and we are happy to answer any questions you may have about the steps we take to keep you and every client and staff member safe during your visit.

Thank you again for your patronage and ongoing support!  We deeply value your trust and loyalty and look forward to welcoming you back to a safe, therapeutic environment.

With love,
