Vela Massage Retreat is seeking an outgoing and self-motivated Spa Coordinator to help create a warm, seamless experience for our clients and service providers. This is a hands-on position in a busy spa, perfect for someone who enjoys helping people, solving problems, and staying active throughout the day.

What You’ll Do

• Warmly greet clients and help them feel welcome

• Answer telephone calls with confidence and professionalism

• Schedule and manage appointments

• Read and respond to our daily communication log

• Coordinate with massage therapists and estheticians throughout the day

• Host clients in our Foot Spa Lounge and earn commission on each qualifying service

• Process payments and handle cash accurately

• Help maintain a clean, peaceful environment

• Wash and fold towels and robes

• Notice what needs attention and take initiative without waiting to be prompted

Who We’re Looking For
Our ideal Spa Coordinator is:

• Friendly, personable, honest, and reliable

• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, multitasking environment

• Able to remain calm and professional under pressure

• A strong problem-solver who can work independently

• Confident and professional on the telephone

• Comfortable learning and using computer-based scheduling and business systems - We use Google Docs and Mytime

• Experienced with cash handling

• Punctual, organized, and attentive to details

• Able to provide strong professional references

• Able to maintain a casual but professional appearance

• Equipped with reliable transportation or able to reliably arrive for every scheduled shift

What to Expect
Vela is a peaceful and wonderful place to work, but the Spa Coordinator position is active and important. There is frequent coordination between clients, massage therapists, estheticians, appointments, telephone calls, laundry, and the Foot Spa Lounge. This is not a position with a lot of idle or sitting time.
The right person will enjoy staying busy, helping the day run smoothly, and making both clients and coworkers feel supported.
Because we maintain a fragrance-sensitive spa environment, employees must refrain from wearing perfume or strongly scented personal products while working.

Who We’re Looking For
Our ideal therapist understands that effective deep-tissue massage is about much more than applying heavy pressure. It requires an informed touch, a strong understanding of anatomy, and the ability to work slowly, safely, and specifically within the muscle tissue.

You may be a wonderful fit if you:

• Are highly skilled, confident, and passionate about deep-tissue massage therapy

• Have a strong working knowledge of muscle anatomy and location

• Can provide firm, focused pressure while maintaining a nurturing touch

• Communicate well with clients and fellow team members

• Are personable, professional, punctual, and dependable

• Have weekend availability

• Have a cell phone with texting capabilities

• Hold a current California CAMTC certificate—no exceptions

Because deep-tissue expertise is essential for this position, our hiring process includes three hands-on massage interviews. This allows us to evaluate technique, pressure, pacing, communication, and overall fit. We are selective because we want every therapist joining Vela to feel confident meeting the needs and expectations of our clientele.

Vela Massage Retreat is seeking a skilled esthetician who shares our enthusiasm for organic and natural skincare. Our current professional skincare line is ISUN, a plant-based product line that complements the peaceful, holistic experience we strive to provide.

 

Who We’re Looking For

Our ideal esthetician is:

• Passionate and knowledgeable about natural skincare

• Properly licensed to provide esthetic services in California

• Trained, skilled, and confident in facial waxing services

• Able to provide Brazilian waxing services, preferably

• Knowledgeable about microdermabrasion

• Clean, organized, and attentive to sanitation

• Warm, personable, and able to communicate comfortably with clients

• Professional, punctual, and dependable

• Comfortable recommending appropriate services and home-care products

• Interested in continuing to learn and grow professionally

Knowledge of massage techniques, including facial, neck, shoulder, hand, or scalp massage, is a welcome plus.
